You’ll likely be so wrapped up in enjoying your day that it won't be as big an issue as you might have imagined. I have experience photographing weddings in all weather conditions and I am confident to be able to make decisions on any day that will enable you to still have amazing photos, whatever the weather. I always carry enough umbrellas for a large bridal party, so rain won't put a dampener on your day. In fact, windswept or rainy days can produce some beautiful portraits. We may be able to grab our moment to pop out and get some outside shots during a break too.

I’ve never yet been unable to attend a wedding but, as with any supplier, it is possible that an illness or emergency could prevent me from attending your wedding. In this extremely unlikely event, I will do everything I can to try to find a similar style associate from my extensive network to fill in for me on the day. 

You'll receive your images in an online gallery around 6-8 weeks after your wedding in peak season, in off-peak season it will usually be earlier. These will be non-watermarked and suitable for any personal use purpose such as printing, sharing online or for your family and friends to download too. Enjoy!

Of course! Editing your images is a major part of the service I provide to you. Initially getting this right in-camera with the most flattering angles and lighting is key but if you get a temporary blemish on the day, don't worry, I’ll remove it! The process of editing essentially involves making an appropriate artistic judgement on each photo and aiming for a cohesive collection. This may mean adjustments to the exposure and crop or a conversion to black and white, for example. Each image is individually edited to reflect my style and you'll receive your beautifully finished digital images in an online gallery. I don't do body sculpting or extensive photoshop retouching because I believe your images are most beautiful showing your real life, just as you are.

It is a fact of life that technology can sometimes run into some issues. However, I have more than enough equipment to bring to make sure I have plenty of back-up on the day. I shoot on a Sony system and I always use two cameras. My gear is well maintained so I have taken every step I can to prevent problems and to protect your images. I also shoot onto dual cards simultaneously, which ensures multiple copies of each image already backed up. When I get home after your wedding I double back up all of the images from your wedding before I even go to bed!

Do you edit the photos? 

Plans can change at a moment's notice through no fault of our own. It's important that we make sure we are all on the same page, which is why I ask all of my couples to read through my contract so that you have some assurance in the event of an unfortunate cancellation. When you reserve your date with me your retainer holds the date exclusively for you and I am no longer available to book anyone else, this is why your retainer is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule your wedding, and I am unavailable on your rescheduled date, I will do my best to find you an alternative photographer from among my network.

What if we have to postpone or cancel our wedding?

Not at the present time. I have stopped offering videography for the forseeable future to focus on other interests. I am able to recommend some other wonderful local videographers that I love to work with.  

Do you offer videography?

This really all depends on your preferences. Some people want their whole day covered from preparation to exit, while others are happy to have photographs from the start of the ceremony to the start of the reception. It's entirely up to you and I will work to your preferences. One of the things we do when I sit down together with you before you book is to talk through your plans and help you decide what type of coverage will be a good fit for you. 

How many hours should we book? 

I have photographed wedding-day portrait sessions in a wide variety of different locations. There are so many beautiful places around Canterbury, the South Island and all across New Zealand. Lots of people like to choose to be out in the natural environment but there are some really fun urban landscapes that can make for great photos too. Where we choose to do your portrait session will depend on a number of factors, including your venue(s), the time of day, the weather, the season and the type of images you would prefer. I can give you some suggestions to help your planning but your preferences will be an important part of that process.
